The Frederick Rescue Mission is dedicated to providing compassionate, love-centered services to individuals and families confronting hunger, poverty, and addiction. Through programs that address both immediate needs and long-term transformation, the Mission seeks to restore hope and dignity to those in crisis. From offering meals to the hungry and shelter to the homeless, to providing addiction recovery and life-skills training, every service is grounded in the belief that lasting change comes through the love of Christ. Second Street and Hope is a Frederick-based nonprofit organization dedicated to alleviating suffering related to addiction and poverty. Established over 15 years ago, the organization began by serving meals in the basement of Centennial Memorial United Methodist Church in Frederick, Maryland. Although they left Centennial in the fall of 2018 with plans to move to the west side of Frederick, the COVID-19 pandemic affected these plans. Despite these challenges, Second Street and Hope continues to serve the community through various initiatives. They support organizations that work with youth in Frederick and have created a vibrant community of support for parents who have lost a child to overdose. Their mission is to build community and provide support to those in need, embodying compassion and hope in all their efforts.
